Last evening, Joe's handphone rang. An ex-colleague from Comfort Transportation (before they merge with Delgro) called and inform that Simon, their Investigation Officer had jumped down from his block of flats. His wife and children were found dead at home, dressed neatly and lying on the bed with shoes on.
A chill went passed my husband, who became dazed. Simon had attempted to borrow $$ from everyone he knew before, including him. Both of us couldn't understand, how a person, whom we knew were in alot of debts and was an avid gambler, but a loving husband and doting dad, can commit suicide, after murdering his wife and children. How did he bear to kill those people whom he treasured most, with his own bare hands?! It was very saddening to hear.
As the police were still carrying out investigations, we did not hear news of the funeral. Still, speculations went about, on every news channel, tv and newspaper on why and how the children died, since there were no visual wounds.
In life, there will always be ups and downs. I've learnt to take life positively. No matter how stressed or busy I am, there is always time to relax, with a cup of tea, a book in my hand or the blog to voice my views.. hahahaha
There is nothing that cannot be solved. If Simon had been so worried abt his monetary woes, perhaps he shouldn't have indulge deeper and deeper, betting on soccer, shares... almost everything! He was borrowing and borrowing.. but he continued to gamble his life away. He had a beautiful daughter and promising son, who may grow up to be respectable and useful people in the society... why take their lives away? Why not give them a chance to live? Just because it was him, who gave them their lives in the first place? Selfish. Sorry to say that, but i do not think he did it right.
However, deep down inside, I pray for you, Simon, and your family.. that you will be together even aft you leave this world. Stay strong.
