SHG Open House

It has been a super tiring weekend...............

Yest was our centre's Open House. Having prepared for at least 2weeks, e kids finally get to Sell! Sell! Sell! We started setting up e stall at 1.30pm yest (most of e kids were already here b4 1pm) and got e whole thingy going from 2pm onwards. Business was slow, as e actual event is today, and it was like a "rehearsal" cum practice yest. However, our kids were v spontaneous and even took some samples to blocks within e area to promote n sell. Our earnings was $58.50, not bad for selling just $1 to $3.50 handi-crafts! We packed up at 4.15pm and let them go home slightly earlier to rest for today's "battle"...

Supposed to meet at 8.30am, but most of e volunteers were late, can't blame them.. it's so early, on a Sunday somemore.. arghhh! e kids however, reached early, as usual. Set up e stall and off they went to sell... By 11am, we knew that things don't look v well (too much "competition" from the 10 stalls of Young Tow-Kays Competitors) and we began to slash some of our prices. It was a super warm day and Jinhan bought all of us a can of drinks each. We tried our very best to try and clear all e stock. Even though we didn't, I thought it was a pretty good effort on the kids' part, as well as e volunteers... It all ended at 12.30pm and then we helped ourselves to e buffet lunch and went to discuss abt our upcoming Jun camp..

Though my energy was totally drained, I felt it was a truly well-spent weekend.. really looking forward to coming weekend...!
