Some thoughts...

My new staff, Leong has been with my team for 1.5 weeks liao... what I liked abt him - careful n serious with his work and v hardworking. He doesn't chit-chat when there's no calls, but spends the time going over his past cases n ensured that he handled them properly. Impressive!

Today, on way home, I listened to FM93.3 and the DJs were interviewing the writer cum song composer, Wu Qing Kang. He has just written some new books and was promoting them. Some of the things he wrote were broadcasted, and they left an imprint in my thoughts...

"A long distance relationship is the sweetest and most rewarding one.." It was strange... something that most people shun is actually very treasured in his eyes. He said, "When you're apart, the thoughts grow fonder, you send sms, you write, you call each other.. the attachment is there. You think of each other, much more often than when your partner is right here, perhaps beside you. When you're together, meeting each other every other day, you take things for granted, you presume that everything will be fine, even if you forgot to call him/ her when you reach home, even when you forgot his/ her birthday..." So, learn to treasure the people around you... do not take anybody or anything for granted!

"It's not just your own happiness, but your world bloom when those around you are happy as well.." He took time off to bring his parents and sister to Bali for a short trip and was so happy he cried when he saw his parents walking hand-in-hand along the beach. Sometimes in life, you pursue a dream that you think will make you happy, but neglect those around you. You enjoy spending time with your buddies, partner and colleagues, having fun... but have you ever wandered if you had spent enough time with your parents, your family?

I myself treasure kinship v much... I'm just like my dad, who makes an effort to bring all of us out for breakfast at least one Sunday per month. I and hubby make it a point to go back to parents' and in-laws' place once a week for dinner and spend quality time with family, chatting and sharing jokes... I organised a chalet-stay few mths back for my family n dog, to get-together... and also booked bbq pit for in-laws' family to have fun and chill out... and have brought my youngest sis to trips in KL and upcoming Bangkok...

Really hope that as you read this, think of a simple way to show your parents and siblings how much you love them... :)
